The sire Rubick, he is a son of Encosta de Lago, and the sire of many good runners on the track! Rubick himself was a three time winner as a 2YO, winning the Blue Diamond Prelude. He won the Group Two Schillaci Stakes, beating Platelet and Overeach. He also placed 3rd to Miracles Of Life in the Group Two ATC Challenge Stakes.
In the breeding barn, Rubick has produced some fast quality Stakes horses such as Everest winner Yes, Yes, Yes, Rubisaki, Condos Express and of course a horse we train in Jacquinot.
Jacquinot has now won just under $455,000 in prize money. As of last week August 27), Jacquinot is now a Group Three winner, taking out the McNeill Stakes and has a 3rd placing in the Group One Blue Diamond and a gallant 6th placing in this year’s Golden Slipper where he did not handle the very heavy track. We are very much looking forward to a Spring campaign with him.
Out of the dam Buon Auspicio, she was a five time metro winner on the track. She also had three seconds and three thirds in her career. Winning over distances of 1350m to 1400m, a versatile mare she won on good to heavy tracks. She is the dam of one foal to race who is a place getter. Buon Auspicio is a half sister to La Chasseuse.
The colt has now gone out to spell for approximately 6 to 8 weeks. He will then be brought back into training to begin his racing career.
This colt was purchased for $150,000. Purchase includes purchase of the horse, pre sale vetting (x-rays and scope), 12 months insurance, Inglis Race Series, post sale scope, video, transport, breaking in and education, agistment, pre training and GST.
