The Victorians closed out The Championships at Randwick with a Group II success in the Cincotta Chemist Sapphire Stakes (1200m) with the 4-year-old Snitzel mare Wee Nessy.
Ridden Jamie Kah for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, Wee Nessy snapped an eight-run losing streak stretching back to October 22 in defeating the 3-year-old Russian Revolution filly Ballroom Bella by one and a quarter length with the 4-year-old Hellbent mare Miss Hellfire Back a half-length back in third.
The winner of the Listed Crockett Stakes at Moonee Valley at three and placed in seven stakes races, Wee Nessy advances her record to four wins, four seconds, and three thirds from 16 starts with earnings of $696,325.
