Exceedance X Authority Belle Colt

Another great value purchase from the Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale is this terrific colt by Exceedance.

 

He’s a handsome, well balanced, lovely moving type with a good length of stride and a swagger we look for in colts.

 

Exceedance was an explosive racehorse who won at 2 and at 3 when he took out the sire-making Gr.1 Coolmore Stud Stakes and the Gr.3 San Domenico Stakes. He was also 3rd in the Gr.1 Golden Rose over 1400m.

 

He has done a very good job so far in his short career at stud, having produced dual Gr.3 winner at 2, Dublin Down, Gr.3 winner Flyer (also a winner at 2) and Listed winners, Dance To The Boom and Swiftfalcon, the latter also a winner as a 2YO.

There is noticeable quality through his Dam’s side. She is an unraced half sister to Gr1 winnner, Plucky Belle. The Grand-Dam, Winning Belle was a versatile galloper who won at 2 and was successful from 1200m-1900m. She was a winner at Gr.2, Gr.3 and twice at Listed level and placed 3 times in Gr.1 company. Noticeably one of those placings was in a Qld Oaks, so she might just be responsible for injecting that bit of stamina into this colt.

 

He ticks every box without a massive price tag, so at that price he represents terrific value.

Samaready, a mare we trained to 2 Gr.1’s is a Vinery grauate and they certainly know what they’re doing when it comes to producing “Bulls”. Farnan, Artorius, Russian Revolution, Shamus Award, Growing Empire, Rubick, Shamus Award… the list goes on!

 

The colt has been transported to Newington Farm approximately an hour from the sales complex to have 7 days off and will then begin his education. He will then spell for 6 weeks, pre train, spell, pre train and then make his way down to Cranbourne around May/June.
