A Tattersall’s Sale Import on the way to Australia..

Over the last week we have busily working away to try and source a yearling or two at the Newmarket Tattersall’s Yearling Sale. Mick has gone through the catalogue and together with renowned bloodstock agent John Foote we were successful in buying a colt by Kodiac.

Kodiac is a son of Danehill and a half-brother to Invincible Spirit, the sire of Australia’s superstar sire I Am Invincible. He is a world record-breaking sire of 2yos. He holds the record for most 2yo winners in a single season in there Northern Hemisphere and is the sire of more than 160 Stakes performers worldwide and counting.

His progeny include Group 1-winning fillies Campanelle, Fairyland and Tiggy Wiggy along with triple Group 1 winner Best Solution and crack sprinter Hello Youmzain. He broke records again in 2020 as the sire of 9 stakes-winning 2yos!

Out of the dam Intaglia, she is a daughter of New Approach. She has two foals of racing age and the point we love here is that she has already produced a full to this colt who is a winner and has placed three times so we know the cross works. Intaglia is a full sister to Libertarian who placed 2nd in the Group One Derby Stakes Epsom and placed second 3 times at Group Two level, she won over £422,200. Intaglia is also a half sister to Prince Siegfried and Bigzam, again both Black Type perfomer’s.

This colt has now arrived in Australia and is doing two weeks post quarantine until approximately November 25. He will then spell for a month at Leneva and then start his education in January.

The colt was purchased for 150,000gns, converting to Aussie dollars at approximately $281,500 (depending on exchange rate).

Purchase of this horse includes bloodstock purchase, agents commission, 12 months insurance, pre sale vet check, Import registration fee, Floating (Melbourne airport to Leneva), Breaking and Education, agistment (1 month in UK and 1 month Australia).

**The flight (approx $30,000) and GST will be invoiced and paid separately when the horse arrives in Australia.**
