Speedy sprinting colt..
This colt by Toronado was recently purchased at the Inglis Premier for $140k.
Toronado is a son of High Chaparral, on the race track he won just under $1.3million from only 12 starts. A sire of 467 runners, he has had 291 winners. His progeny includes Gr1 William Reid winner Masked Crusader, Still A Star, Affair To Remember and Scissor Step to name a few.
We were thrilled to secure this colt for $140,000 considering the average for a Toronado at Gold Coast Magic Millions was $387,000.
Out of the mare Sacre Coeur, she is a half sister to super star Rock Kingdom. She has not had much luck with her progeny, her first foal getting hurt and ending his career, the second foal is a Fighting Sun, the third foal by Highland Reel is deceased and then there is this colt. So we can now look forward to what this colt will bring on the track.
This colt has now been transported to Nathan Dunn’s where he will begin his breaking in and education process. He will then spell, pre train, spell, pre train and then make his way to our Cranbourne stables where Mick and Michael will assess him and map out a program.
This colt was purchased for $140,000. Purchase includes purchase of the horse, pre sale vetting (x-rays and scope), 12 months insurance, Inglis Race Series, post sale scope, video, transport, breaking in and education, one months agistment and GST.
